• Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Royal City Musical Theatre, Ed Harrington has been inducted into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame. The induction took place at a performance of OKLAHOMA at the Royal City Musical Theatre in New Westminster on Friday, April 19, 2013. This is the first time the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame has chosen to hold an induction outside of the historic Orpheum. • The BC Entertainment Hall of Fame is proud to announce the unveiling of the new StarWall in the historic Orpheum. The Orpheum has been the home of the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame since its inception in 1992 to honour those British Columbians who have made an outstanding contribution to the entertainment industry and have resided in BC while working in their artistic fields. The new and improved StarWall now contains memorabilia as well as photos of all the “Stars” inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Rae Ackerman is a graduate of the Theatre Department at U.B.C. and worked on theatre productions all across the country from 1965 to 1989. In 1990, he became the Director of Civic Theatres in Vancouver and was the prime spark plug, along with Professor Norman Young and the late impresario Hugh Pickett, for the renewal of the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and the Orpheum. • Actor Winston Rekert died September 14, 2012 of cancer at the age of 63.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Rekert got his start at the Arts Club with a single line, “Did anyone order a taxi?” in a production of Hot L Baltimore. Rekert took that taxi to stardom, soon becoming one of the country’s best-known actors.
