• Vancouver band leader releases new CD at 93

How many 93-year-old men do you know who can jog a mile, swim 20 laps, do squats and lead a 16-piece band in a sold-out auditorium? Meet Dal Richards, Vancouver's Dr. Swing.
Timeless classics in a brand new setting - that's how Richards describes his latest album, "Dal Richards, Musically Yours." It will be a vocalist's compilation, he said, including songs by Jennifer Hayes, Diane Lines, Caroline Markos, Dawn Chubai and Jamie Croil. Richards sings two songs on the album, scheduled for release this May.

A pioneer of Vancouver "talk radio" David Abbott died Sunday night at St. Paul's Hospital. He was 74.
Abbott's lilting Irish voice entertained, amused and informed audiences on four continents for more than forty years.
As a radio and television host, broadcast columnist, journalist, travel writer and public speaker, he mined a lifetime of world travel and adventure to bring his many fans first-hand stories from around the globe.

• The BC Entertainment Hall of Fame regrets the loss of valued Starwalk member, Zena Wagstaff. An accomplished violinist and member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for 50 years, Zena was also prominent in Vancouver's music scene through Zena's Musical Staff. She was inducted into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame in 1997 for her services to the music industry. This accomplished musician will be greatly missed.Read More...
