Nov-19-2013 •   Turn back the time to the 1960’s when Vancouver had a vibrant supper club and night club scene. “The Cave” and Isy’s Supper Club hosted numerous big name acts from Las Vegas such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Chubby Checker, Della Reese, Bobby Darin, Kenny Rogers, Little Richard and the list goes on and on. Oct-5-2013 • September 28, 2013 The BC Entertainment Hall of Fame performed two very special inductions into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame to coincide with the 95th anniversary of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Maestro Bramwell Tovey and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra were inducted in front of a crowd of over 2700 people in the Historic Orpheum Theatre. Guest of honour for the induction was Premier Christy Clark and the induction was conducted by BC Entertainment Hall of Fame President, Rob Haynes and Past President, Councillor Elizabeth Ball. As a fund raiser, Lloyds Travel will be donating partial proceeds from their 40th Annual London Theatre Tour in November and March. Aug-13-2013 • BC Entertainment Hall of Fame inducts ANN WATT as a “Pioneer” at Theatre Under the Stars. TUTS was chosen as a perfect venue to induct Ms. Watt as she first performed there the year it opened in 1940. At high school, she came into her own in the Glee Club, and in time was able to make her living exclusively as a singer, and many of her greatest triumphs took place at the famous Theatre Under the Stars, which officially opened on August the 6th 1940.
