Apr-7-2015 • Nicknamed after Broadway “The Great White Way” of New York City, Hastings Street was the heart of Vancouver’s entertainment district, with theatres, cinemas, pool halls and restaurants lining the road from Victory Square to Main Street. In the early 1900's Hasting Street was considered the heart of Vancouver's Entertainment disctrict, and only a few short years ago the last of the great theatres, The Pantages was lost. Mar-7-2015 • BC Entertainment Hall of Fame inductee Fred Latrimouille passed away this week after a brief illness at the age of 69. Fred was a fixture on Vancouver's radio scene for over five decades & was also known for his children's charity work, especially the annual Christmas Wish Breakfast. He was an actor, a weatherman, a host, a co-editor at the Georgia Straight and his wit, humour and talent will be missed.  Thank-you to the CBC for this articulate tribute to Mr. Latremorning

Schein is a former Toronto International Film Festival executive director and Montreal World Film Festival director of English-language films.
